How to Find an Affordable Drug Rehab
For many addicts, finding affordable drug rehab is the primary reason why they haven’t sought help previously. Many users cannot even begin to think about the high cost of drug treatment or the burden that the financial stress of paying for treatment will place on their family members or loved ones. Addiction takes a serious toll on the user and usually hits the pocket pretty hard too leaving the addict without any savings, assets or extra money to spend. When there’s no job, no insurance and seemingly no way out, how do you find help?
Affordable drug rehab is available but it takes time and research to find. There are many options available to assist those in need in finding the right type of care for their needs but the user or the loved ones who are helping the user find treatment must be committed and resilient in their search efforts. Free Support Groups
Drug rehab often refers users to outside support groups even after they have completed a residential treatment program. Many different support groups can help you to get well including AA, NA, and a wide range of other anonymous groups. Each provides 12-step support and recovery tools to help you stay sober.
Government Rehab Programs
The government backs programs in some states that offer treatment and intervention to help users get sober and stay clean. While these are affordable drug rehab programs, they are typically based on income and assets and have limited availability so it could take some time to be admitted into a local program that can help.
Sliding Fee Programs
If you have at least some ability to pay or some help from friends or family members, a sliding fee program could provide affordable treatment that meets your needs. These programs will bill you for treatment based on your ability to pay. Those with greater financial ability will pay a slightly higher rate than those who have only minimal funds available to cover the cost of their treatment. Sliding fee programs offer affordable drug rehab in both residential and outpatient settings to accommodate a wide range of users.
Pay-as-you-go Programs
If you don’t have savings but you do have a job or you can get weekly or monthly assistance from friends or family members, a pay-as-you-go program could provide you with effective and affordable care. These programs don’t focus on collecting the entire cost of treatment up-front and they allow you to pay over a period of time such as 30, 60 or 90 days. Some pay-as-you-go programs will even allow you to extend the cost of treatment over 12 months or longer to help further accommodate you so that you can get the help that you need.
